Request a Certificate of Good Standing

Effective 6/24/19: The Fifth Circuit will no longer accept requests for Certificates of Good Standing in paper. All requests must be submitted electronically. Please see the below section for further instruction.

To obtain a Certificate of Good Standing from the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, please do the following:

Log in to CM/ECF. (If you do not already have a CM/ECF e-filer account, you must register for one via Pacer.)

From CM/ECF, select the 'Utilities' menu, 'Request Documents' then 'Certificate of Good Standing'.

Follow the on-screen instructions to upload any documents and to submit the payment at Pacer.gov.

Upon successful completion of the payment process, a notice will be automatically generated to the Fifth Circuit to fulfill the request.

We will send the Certificate of Good Standing to the email address on file in your CM/ECF e-filer account.

NOTE: Certificates of Good Standing normally take 1 - 2 business days to process after a request is received.
